Me & my Dogs

Well, I wanted to get a little personal with you all before I start my next endeavor. I want to go through health problems alphabetically in pets. If any of you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment and I will do my best to find the answers you need.
First I wanted to tell you all about Midnight. She is my shining star. My sunshine. I have had her for 10 years now. She has been with me through thick and thin. I have cried a many of tear on her neck. My precious Midnight. What is funny is now I have 5 dogs. Not a one of them was prethought or considered. My Midnight was won in a contest of a sort, one cold Valentines night 10 years ago. She wound up being the best friend I have ever had.
Then comes Chloe. My now 14 year old daughter was serious about getting a dog of her own. Finally I caved and she started looking at shelters on weekends with her MeMaw. She found a very unlikely Jack Russell terrier. The guy at the shelter had fell in love with her, and was going to take her home if nobody claimed her. My daughter put her bid in and waited two weeks. Nobody ever came to claim Chloe so here she came, to our family. She is the most docile of creatures. Where I go, she goes. Now if any of you know Jack Russels you know they generally run like the wind, God forbid the see a squirrel. But not my Chloe. I can go anywhere, take her with me, I dont need a lead, she is just by my side. If I go in a house or building, she waits patiently at the door. You may notice I say, "My Chloe" Well that is what she is now.
Then came Tippy. One hunting season 3 Years ago now, we found, no, she found us. I kept seeing this beautiful Beagle roaming the neighborhood. I would bombard everyone walking their dogs, do you know her? Do you know where she lives? The general consencus was that she was lost. So in she came. She is the sweetest thing. But she loves running and sniffing. If she gets a chance to get loose, run she does. But she always comes back within an hour. Well one night in Jan 05 She got out of her pen. I waited and waited. She did not come back. I called the Sheriffs office, the pound, I put up posters, nothing. I was heart broken. Lo and behold, one lovely May morning who should appear at the door, Yep, that's right, It Was Tippy. Good Lord you have never seen such a bunch a blubbering slobs than me and my two girls with that Beagle. And she is here today. I will always say she is truely mine, because she came back.
Next comes Ali. Oh my baby Ali. My current husband and I were seperated, but talked all the time. So he calls me one afternoon from a breeders house, a Rhodesian Ridgeback breeder. He is standing here, looking at these puppies and there parents, and he can't understand anything they are saying. They were from Israel, they had very strong accents, so he puts me on the phone with the wife. They were very nice and had just moved here. Well, about an hour later here comes my husband with this precious little red pup. I did'nt want another dog, but this face was not going to be denied. He had my heart from the second that puppy breath hit me. He is now two. He was almost the worst puppy ever, next to Midnight. But with determination, a clicker, and a lot of treats he is now the best dog a person could have. Protection is his game. He is a great babysitter and doorbell.
Then there is Ladybug. She is a bealge mix. She was the runt of a litter. She has the prettiest face on a pup I have ever seen. She is my youngest daughters dog. They are two peas in a pod.
Anyway, I love them all so very much. I can't imagine life without them. I am the dog lady. How many moms are out there that love to put two or three dogs in the car, jam on some radio Disney and go for a ride on nice days? I know your out there.
So I will start with the health problems this week and we will face them one by one. Please visit me at http://Pets2Love.net and e-mail MsMary@pets2love.net See ya soon
